Unpacking identity, belonging, secrecy, silence, confusion, lies, truth, betrayal, rejection, loss, grief, uncertainty, stigma, shame, guilt, judgment, acceptance, and healing.
Adoption Anonymous explores the many experiences, perspectives, and questions that often accompany adoption, creating space for learning, reflection, and connection.
Adoption isn’t just a legal process or a way to form a family — it’s a lifelong journey shaped by identity, secrecy, and emotional complexity. It reaches far beyond paperwork and into the quiet, often unspoken spaces of real life.
All About Adoption is part of Adoption Anonymous, a Thrive Elevate initiative dedicated to unpacking and exploring the many experiences and perspectives surrounding adoption. From adoptees navigating questions about identity and belonging, to birth parents, adoptive families, and the wider community, these conversations create space for stories that are often carried quietly and discussed far too rarely.
This space exists for those who’ve lived it, witnessed it, or are only now beginning to understand it. Through open dialogues, professional-led seminars, and community conversations, Adoption Anonymous seeks to bring greater visibility to stories and experiences that are too often left unspoken.
If you're connected to adoption in any way, we'd love to hear from you. Your experiences can help shape our next workshop.

Some of us are part of someone else's recipe. Some of us helped write the recipe. Some of us wish we didn't know what was the recipe. It never ends.

But the truth is that adoption involves far more than adoptees alone. It exists within a complex network of relationships and is experienced differently by different people. No two journeys are identical, yet many are connected by similar questions, emotions, silences, and a shared search for understanding.
